Nylon locking nut is a special anti-loosening fastener. By embedding a nylon ring (PA66 or PA6 material) at the top of the nut, the elastic deformation of nylon generates friction resistance to prevent the nut from loosening due to vibration or impact. This design makes it widely used in the fields of automobile, aerospace, machinery manufacturing, etc.
1. Structure and working principle of nylon locking nut
(1) Structural characteristics
Metal nut base: usually carbon steel or stainless steel (such as 304/316), providing the main strength.
Nylon locking ring: The nylon ring (mainly PA66) embedded at the top of the nut, the thickness of which accounts for about 1/3 of the nut height.
Standard thread: in accordance with ISO, DIN and other standards (such as M6, M8, etc.).
(2) Anti-loosening principle
Elastic deformation: When the bolt is screwed in, the nylon ring is squeezed and deformed, generating radial pressure.
Friction locking: The friction between nylon and thread is significantly increased (3-5 times higher than ordinary nuts).
Adaptability: Even if the thread is slightly worn, nylon can still maintain contact pressure.
