Product Description

Fish bolts (also known as fishtail threads) are fasteners specially used for connecting rail joint clamps (fishtail plates). They are mainly used in track laying in metallurgy, coking, steel and other industries to achieve the fastening connection between rails and rail joints. In certain cases, hexagonal bolts can also be used instead. Its main function is to ensure the stability and safety of rail joints and withstand the huge pressure and vibration caused by train operation. 
Product Features and Design Advantages
Fish bolts are made of high-strength steel (such as 45# steel or Q235), with high yield point and tensile strength, and can withstand the huge pressure of high-speed trains. Its unique anti-loosening design can effectively prevent the bolts from loosening due to train vibration and ensure transportation safety. The bolt head is in the shape of a fishtail, which is convenient for workers to quickly locate and tighten. In addition, fish bolts with special surface treatment have good corrosion resistance, can maintain stable performance in harsh environments, and have a service life of up to decades.
Model specification and material selection
Common models of fish bolts include Φ14×70, Φ16×75, Φ18×90, Φ20×90, Φ22×135, Φ24×135, etc., which are generally formed by hot pressing or cold heading with a friction press. The materials are mainly divided into ordinary carbon steel (Q235) and high-strength steel (45# steel), as well as special types such as insulated fish bolts. The performance grades range from 4.6 to 12.9, of which 8.8 and above are high-strength bolts, made of low-carbon alloy steel or medium-carbon steel and heat-treated. 
Installation precautions
When installing fish bolts, please note: the contact part between the fish plate and the rail and the bolts should be lubricated with oil; if the bolts are not aligned with the holes when inserted, the fish plate should be knocked to adjust instead of forcing them in; the tightening order should be the middle first and then the two sides (four-hole fish plate), and a wrench of specified length (such as a 55 cm screw wrench) should be used. It is forbidden for multiple people to tighten at the same time to prevent over-tightening. The bolt caps should be installed crosswise on the inside and outside of the line to prevent them from being cut off completely in the event of derailment.

Fish bolts are widely used in rail transportation fields such as railways, subways, and light rails, and are key components to ensure the safety of track connections. Their high reliability and efficient installation characteristics significantly reduce the probability of railway accidents, and are used in internationally renowned projects such as the European ICE high-speed rail and the US Amtrak.
